Embody Wellness / Essentials & Evidence

Care guides you can actually use.

Pre-care, post-care, and clear answers — written for real life, not medical jargon. Start here before or after your visit.

Pre-Care

Before Your Injectables Visit

A simple checklist so your tox or filler appointment goes smoothly.

Arrive with clean skin and a clear idea of what you want to soften or enhance.

Helpful prep:

  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your visit when possible
  • Pause blood-thinning supplements (fish oil, high-dose vitamin E, etc.) if your provider agrees
  • Come makeup-light around the treatment area
  • Eat a light meal so you feel steady

Your free consult is the place to ask every question — dosing, bruising, and what “natural” looks like for you.

Post-Care

After Lip Filler

What the first 48 hours usually feel like, and how to protect your result.

Swelling and mild tenderness are common at first. Your lips may look fuller than the final result for a day or two.

For the first 24–48 hours:

  • Use a cool compress in short sessions (no ice directly on skin)
  • Sleep slightly elevated if you can
  • Skip strenuous workouts, saunas, and hot yoga
  • Avoid pressing, massaging, or “checking” the filler
  • Hold off on lipstick/lip products until the next day unless told otherwise

Call us if you have severe pain, blanching, or anything that feels urgently wrong. We would rather hear from you early.

Post-Care

After Tox (Botox / Jeuveau / Daxxify)

Light rules for the first evening so your tox settles where it should.

Stay upright for about 4 hours after treatment. Skip hats that press the injection sites and skip facial massages that day.

Usually fine the same day:

  • Gentle face washing
  • Light makeup later if the skin is calm

Usually wait until tomorrow:

  • Heavy workouts
  • Facials, peels, or microneedling
  • Rubbing or “working in” the product

Results build over several days. If something feels uneven after two weeks, message us — touch-ups are part of good care, not a failure.

Tips & Evidence

Why Conservative Dosing Looks Better Longer

A quick note on the “less first” approach behind natural results.

Overfilled faces are usually a planning problem, not a product problem. Starting conservatively lets us protect your expression, then add only if you want more.

That is why we begin with a conversation:

  • What you never want to lose
  • What bothers you in photos vs. the mirror
  • How fast you want change

Natural results are built on restraint, good anatomy, and a provider who listens first.
